Google has announced that send money Gmail is now available in the UK. That means that users can send and receive cash directly from the desktop Gmail, even if the recipient does not have a Gmail address.

To send money from Gmail, simply hover over the button and select the attachment icon pounds to attach money to your message, enter the amount you want to transfer and send. You can attach a money request using the same process.

The first time you receive money through Gmail, you'll have to set up a Google Wallet account and link it with a debit card or bank account. Once you've done that, any money you receive can stay there to send later, spending on Google Play or transfer to your bank account.

Send or request money

A. Open Gmail.
B. Click the Compose button.
C. Enter the email address of the person you want to send the money to.
D. Add a subject and message text (optional).
E. Click the icon $ (£ for UK users).

H. To send money: Enter the amount you want to send and select a funding source.
