How to Save Your YouTube Videos to The Google Drive

If we are uploading the videos to YouTube website but now we are looking to explore the additional channels. We can put them on other video hosting websites like Video/ Facebook page to reach wider audience. We can bundle the YouTube video files as an iTunes podcast so that people can download and watch on offline.

But how do we get the original video files from YouTube for uploading it to the other websites. If we want to store a backup of every single video file that you have ever uploaded into YouTube we have two “official” options.

By using the creator dashboard on the YouTube website, we can download any of the website with a simple click. The only drawback with the option is that YouTube reduces your HD videos to 480p.

We have another option available inside the Google Takeout that will not only let you to download the YouTube videos in original high-resolution but also saves the files directly into Google Drive. Thus, we can start the download process so that it will save all our files of big and small to Google Drive in the background. Once the files are in Drive, automatically they will sync to your desktop that you can upload later to other video websites.

Go to this custom link to  start, Then click on the Next button and choose Add to Drive as your delivery method. All YouTube videos will be zipped and added to the Takeout folder in Drive in few hours. It will create multiple files of 2 GB each if the total size of your videos exceeds 2GB.
