The "Kadal" album has seven tracks, with the voices of ARRahman, Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam, Jodhpurkar Abhay, Chinmayi, Haricharan Seshadri, Harini, Shakthisree Gopalan, Sid Sriram, Tanvi Shah and Vijay Yesudas. While Rahman has crooned two songs, the rest of the singers have one song each in their favor.
"Chithirai Nela" by Vijay Yesudas is a comforting number to open the album with. Vairamuthu emotional lyrics set the mood of the song for a pleasant and rewarding listen from the first minute, while Vijay vowel is very stimulating. The baseline soft song takes heavy blows percussion hits.
Sid Sriram enlivens "Adiye" a poignant series heavily influenced by gospel-style singing. Powerful Vocal Sid is backed by a strong chorus and Rahman selection of Indian instruments. Although the song sounds generally blue, but due to the use of instruments of light, the overall mood of the song is very real.
"Elay keechan", crooned by ARRahman, has traces of the original soundtrack of the Hollywood movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou". Acoustic guitar leads at the beginning, so the song dedication to sailors and their lives. You can also feel the effervescent atmosphere of the song at all, formed by the collaboration of Karky wonderful lyricist, composer and singer Rahman. Rahman's unique voice adds a special ring to the song while the melody is catchy enough to attract attention.
"Nenjukkule" is undoubtedly the best song of the soundtrack. After being released well before the official release audio of the film, this song has already caught the attention of a whole, including several that are not Tamils. Gopalan Shakthisree impressive voice, not only makes this song melodious but also highly emotional. For those who have heard the live version of this song on MTV "Unplugged", the studio version may or may not impress as one might feel that one loses the charm that you find to hear the live version. The preface guitar perfectly synchronized with the heavy percussion backing.
"Anbin vaasale" crooned by Haricharan Seshadri is another track on the album with a gospel feel to the overall production. The church choir is perfectly supported by Haricharan vocals reminiscent of the lines written by Madhan Karky strong.
"Magudi magudi" digitally mastered track is highly energetic and spicy, but at the same time, broody. What is different in this issue, with little dialogue mixes of the song to be part serious and part catchy. Since most of the song is composed digitally, there is no possibility of musical composition.
"Kadal" is nice but not the best of Rahman.
