IRCTC as per its earlier announcement that it will be selling
air tickets started offering air tickets to all domestic routes. It is also
holding special holiday packages. IRCTC receives great traffic in business by
adding the e-ticketing for air as mentioned earlier it would like to be a
perfect travel web-portal rather than just as a ticketing system.
The already
giant in the railways e-ticketing, boarding and lodging, and catering service,
IRCTC has hit the airline market greatly. It has been confirmed as the official
e-ticketing partner for commonwealth games which are to be held next year in
the month of October. Additionally it got selected to provide catering services
to the players also.
IRCTC is
providing services for e-ticketing system such as train enquiry, mobile
enquiry, mobile ticket, login which is user friendly, tatkal ticketing system, and
passenger ticket availability and also to Indian railways the passenger
information.
IRCTC is the next
generation e-ticketing system which provides online booking. IRCTC online
booking is done with the help of an individual login given to its customers,
through which they can book tickets, cancel tickets, view PNR status, check the
train seat/berth availability and lastly train schedule.
