New Delhi: When introduced as a standalone application, there were frowns on the faces of the faithful who had to download as a standalone application. Today, Facebook Messenger has joined the elite club of having one billion downloads in Android devices.
At the moment, only two companies have applications with more than one billion downloads of Google Play Store. Apart from Facebook, Google is to be part of the club.
A report by TechCrunch notes that Messenger now joins Facebook, WhatsApp, Gmail, YouTube, Search and Maps in the very exclusive club.
Facebook inserted Messenger with VoIP, video calling, stickers, voice clips, payments peer-to-peer and much to be a product itself and keep its 600 million users to remain committed to the service.
