Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Monday died in a private hospital in Shillong, where he was admitted in critical condition.
Reports said Abdul Kalam, 83, collapsed at the Indian Institute of Management-Shillong while delivering a lecture to students in school B.
"The former president was brought to our hospital almost dead. It is in a critical condition. We are trying to revive the patient," John Sailo Ryntathiang, director of Bethany Hospital, told IANS before
He was in the ICU wehre doctors were examining. It is suspected he suffered a major heart attack.
