GIF Screen-casts Creating With Snaglt for Chrome The popular screen capture program for Windows and Mac

The popular screen capture program for Windows and Mac is Snaglt now it is also available for Google Chrome. It will capture the screenshots and screencast videos from our desktop and the Extension is free. By using the Snaglt app we can directly upload the Recorded videos into YouTube or Google Drive.

The recent version of Snaglt for chrome can save the screencast video as an Animated GIF format which is easy and perfect for publishing quick and short demos.But the condition is the time duration of recorded video should be 20 seconds or less than 20 seconds We can download it locally or sent to our Google Drive for quick sharing.



If the latest version of Google Chrome is not their means it will take few steps to enable screen casting support inside your browser.

The First step to Install the Snaglt app and the extension from the chrome store. Next is type the chrome://flags in the browser address bar then enable the settings of Enable Screen Capture Support in getUserMedia() and then restart the chrome browser.

For other screen sharing apps Snaglt is using WebRTC to record the screen-cast. Automatically when we press the record button, it will starts private screen sharing session and no other participants all the on-screen activity during the session will be saved as an AVI video.

The only default is in the Snaglt there is no option to select a custom area for recording only it can record either desktop screen or an individual browser window.It may the limitation of browser platform than the app itself.

The good alternative is Screencastify extension for chrome. It will record individual browser tabs or the entire desktop screen.The videos are recorded as .webm files which can play in all modern browser without requiring plugins.The videos of screencast can also uploaded to YouTube and Google Drive but it does not do GIFs though.
