How to Save the Gmail Messages as PDF Files in Google Drive 

In the older version of Gmail we have the feature that would let you quickly save an email message in Gmail as a Google Document in the Google Drive. we can open the email thread inside the Gmail, Create a Document menu option and the message will be exported to Google Docs.

The feature “Save as Google Document” is no longer available in Gmail but if we use Gmail inside the Chrome, or in official Gmail mobile apps, we can use Google Cloud Print to save the email messages as PDF files one by one inside the Google Drive.

It works when we Open an email message in Gmail, then choose the option Print and select “Send To Google Drive” as the destination printer available under Google Cloud Print. It will save the message as a PDF file in Drive. If the email contains any attachments, they are not saved into the Drive.


Sending the Emails from Gmail to the Google Drive

There will be an alternative thought that will work everywhere. we have to apply the label “PDF” to any email thread in Gmail and the message, along with all the included file attachments will be saved to the Drive.

Cloud Print will only save the individual email messages, this option can save a batch of messages automatically to the drive. Just we need to apply the label “PDF” to one or more emails and copy of these messages would be exported to Google Drive in few minutes.


How you can setup the Google Script for the Gmail account.

1. First Install the Saved Emails as PDF and add-on inside the Google drive.

2. From the menu of Add-ons, go to Save Emails and Create the New rule then select a Gmail folder from the dropdown. Which  is an open-source Google Script and does not share your data with anyone else.

3. In Google Drive Select a folder in and create the rule. The sheet will start saving your messages PDFs in drive within an hour.Other wise go to Saves Emails then Manage Rules to download any Gmail message as PDF in Drive instantly.

How to Save the PDF and Email Attachments in Drive
